Join us at the Colorado Avalanche Hockey game with the Vancouver Canucks.  At the Pepsi Center at 1 PM.  They've offered our group tickets for only $50 in the VIP seating level. Cheyenne Ski Club's Fifteenth Chili Cook-off will take place at the Knights of Columbus at 507 West 28th St. Show up with five bucks, get a short-term membership,  and vote for the best of the house (free for kids under 12). Call Jonna at xxxxxxx  for more information if you want to submit your best concoction - all submissions are welcome and eligible for the coveted Traveling Ladle.   Doors are open at 5:30 pm, with serious chili beginning not long after. This is a great chance to get acquainted and get more info on our trips. Signups will be accepted for any and all trips on the Nordic schedule, and for the December trip to Copper Mountain this evening.

November 5
Our first regular meeting.  Featured speaker will be Bert Witsel from Sun Valley.  You'll leave with no doubt that you'll want to go on our club trip there in late February. This resort is one of the West's first major areas, and still at the top of many lists. Signups will continue for the Copper Mountain trip and the nordic trips, while details will be available on our full slate of activities.   Meeting begins at 7:30 at the Knights of Columbus.
November 14
Colorado Snow Sports Expo at Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver. We'll be carpooling down for the day.   Meet at the Game and Fish Overflow Parking Lot at 8:00 AM on Saturday.  After a day of shopping for equipment, buying passes and picking up brochures for all the places the club can't take you to this year, we'll stop off for a bite on the way home. November 19
Cheyenne resident Dick Krahenbuhl will present on his many bike trips and tours in southern New Zealand.  Program begins at 7:30.

December 3
Program will be our own Sandy Champlin, DPT, with guidelines on just what you need to do to get in shape for the season.  Signups will continue for several of our trips, beginning at 7:30.
December 11-13
We're heading down to Copper Mountain to enjoy their typically excellent early-season conditions.  We'll be staying in nearby Frisco at the Best Western Lake Dillon Lodge. Get acquainted party at Carlos Miguel's with Mexican appetizers and margaritas. Great first trip of the year!

The night of our favorite Holiday Gift Exchange.   All members and guests are welcome. The cost?  One wrapped "White Elephant" gift (marked as "adult" or "child") for each person attending.  (White Elephant generally means something you've used that you're ready to pass on to a new owner.)  NOTE:  To help out the COMEA shelter during the holiday season, we're asking you to help out by bringing along some of the following items.  Thanks!

Nordic warmup day at Happy Jack. We'll meet at the Tie City Parking Lot for some skiing and some snacks. Begins about 10AM.  We have some chili planned, but CYA and bring something additional yourself to eat.  Parking charges apply of $5 per vehicle.

Be at the Barracks at Brush Creek to welcome in the New Year!  Location for this Nordic trip is the west side of the Snowy Range.
January 7
CHANGE OF VENUE. We'll meet at the Laramie County Library, where we'll be offering a free showing of Level 1 Productions "Refresh" ski movie.  Lots of merchandise giveaways are planned.  Doors open at 6:30 and the flick starts at 7:00.
January 15-18

Long Nordic holiday weekend at Michigan Lakes just west of Cameron Pass.  Three days on the skinny skis.  This is an ideal area for all skill levels.  Captains are John Hartman and Mark Pring.

Meeting at the Knights at 7:30. Local pharmacist Steve Borin scored an opportunity to join National Geographic personnel on a photo expedition in Antarctica.  His photos and recollections will persuade you to put this on your bucket list.

The destination for this nordic weekend is the cabins at Columbine, a ghost town north of Steamboat Springs a piece.  You'll find an excellent trail system at Steamboat Lake. But if you'd prefer to stay there and drive back to Steamboat for the day at the area, let Art know early so he can secure additional cabins.

Meeting at the Knights. Spring's coming, so it's appropriate to find out about bike maintenance tips from George Anadiotis, owner of Rock on Wheels.  He's renting ski gear now too, so you'll get some tips on ski maintenance as well.

Alpine Skiing at its best in the Summit County, Colorado area. We'll depart Friday evening and return Sunday after two days on the slopes.

Final ski trip is a day trip to A-Basin.  This is atop the Continental Divide with its delightful (if unpredictable) spring skiing. We have spot #3 on the Beach and our traditional barbeque from Del is still only ten bucks for ski club members!

A day rafting on the Poudre River. Last year we did both a half-day and a full-day trip, and this is being offered again. Prices include wetsuit, booties, fleece, gloves, paddle, jacket, helmet, and tip, and for the full-day trip, a deli-style lunch.  Fare for the morning is $71.50 and for the full-day, $112.00.
