$1294 thru November 15 $1521 thereafter

Remember the Steamboat Card? Good, becuase it's only a memory now. It will not be offered for 2007-8.Passwagon In addition to the Ultimate (above), several other passes are offered (pricing shown is thru August 15)
Rky Mtn Super Pass - $389. Unlimited skiing at Copper and WP Rky Mtn Super Pass Plus - $489. This adds 6 unlimited days at Steamboat and free skiing at Steamboat every Friday afternoon (We're not sure if this need be tied to a lodging arrangement for the weekend) Winter Park for the Season - $349
Copper Mountain for the Season - $349 A great product comparison page is here
UPDATE - August 27: Intrawest has announced the pricing for FourPasses for Winter Park at $129 and Copper for $119. Details and sales outlets are on this page Vail Resorts - Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, Breckenridge (and A-Basin)
Colorado Pass - renew now for $419 for adults. We can't tell when the price will go up, or when sales begin for new purchasers. As of 8/16, their website advises that prices are good through September 4. As of 8/27 - they state that these prices are valid thru September 3. Offers 10 days at Vail/BC (The busiest days are restricted) and unlimited days at the other resorts. Colorado Pass Plus - OK. This is peculiar. For another C-note ($519 total), you can buy access for six of the ten restricted days. The other four remain restricted. We're not sure how will work. Are the first six restricted days you show up OK, then on the seventh day you kick up to retail price? Or are there certain days that are restricted regardless of how many of the six you've used? We wonder why you'd want to go when it's that busy anyway. FYI, the restricted dates are November 23 & 24, December 27 - 31, and February 16 & 17. (Funny, we only count NINE restricted days). Aha! It all becomes clear - this permits you to use the pass on any four of those nine blackout dates, So if you HAVE to be there at Christmas with all those other folks, this is the way to do it.
Lots of places to get these passes over the Labor Day weekend - the REI story in Fort Collins, and a multitude of places in Denver. Summit Pass - This used to be called the Buddy Pass. For $379, you get unlimited access to Keystone, Breck and A-Basin.
With any of these offerings you get six discounted ski-with-a-friend tickets. Summary page is here.
The venerable free SkeCard appears to be on its way out. No new ones will be issued. Oops! They've changed course - you can get one over Labor Day weekend. Beyond that, we don't know. Link
Aspen - all four mountains
Aspen may be the first to announce single-day ticket prices. Are you sitting down? Peak season days will go for $87 !! At least there are some reasonable alternatives for those of us that are some distance away. For those that purchase through about early November (the date of the Denver ski show), the venerable ClassicPass is available. For current passholders, renewals begin August 1, both by phone and online. Seven unrestricted days anytime during the season (need not be contiguous) are $259. For four days, the one we've often purchase when we go there as a club, are a mere $159.
Monarch (and most everywhere else) We quote from their website:
| This season, we`ve raised the bar. Monarch pass holders will receive 3 free days of skiing/riding at Crested Butte, Loveland, Sunlight, Powderhorn, Durango, Angel Fire, and Pajarito. You also get 1/2 price at Alta, Utah, 1 day of unguided at Silverton, and a variety of discounts from local businesses. |
Reading here, it looks like this means three days EACH at these other wonderful, uncrowded hillls. Think this through, consider the possibilites for some great extended weekends, then look at the price. $299 for Adults 16-61, and only $179 for Seniors 62-69 and free for those 70+. We're also checking if the free season pass for super seniors is valid at the other places too - seems incredible!
