CHAIN LAW - WHAT DOES IT MEAN?     COLORADO     WYOMING

IS IT FRIDAY?  THE LAST ONE OF THE MONTH?
Well then, it's
Happy Hour!
Change of Venue:  For the summer months, we're going to enjoy the music
at the Plaza downtown at the Depot.  Although we won't have our sign up,
or be wearing our jams, you'll still have no trouble finding us from
about 5:30 on. Hope you can make it!

2009-2010 TRIP SCHEDULE - DETAILS SOON!
For now, check out our calendar at

MAY NEWSLETTER IS AVAILABLE
The final newsletter of the season is now online. And it's easier to get to
than ever before -- simply click on the Current Newsletter link to the left, then on the headline.
Here you'll find detailed information on our summer raft trip on the Cache la Poudre River in June
and our final Nordic weekend.  Also, a heads-up on the Yellowstone jaunt next year.
By now, you know that we're posting the newsletter here rather than sending it through the mail.
Since we'll update you when new ones come along, your e-mail address is a vital link
in the process.
If we don't have your current e-mail address, please click here
to let us keep in touch with you.

TRIP VIDEO AND PHOTOS
Thanks to Doug and Mary for two great videos of our downhill trips
Winter Park    Jackson Hole      Steamboat ISC Trip
These are LARGE files and sometimes stutter on playback from the site.  We suggest you download them to your computer for a better viewing experience.  Enjoy!
Next, a
Smilebox slide show of Jackson by Tom
And we also have some snapshots up in our
photo gallery.

INTERMOUNTAIN SKI COUNCIL - NEW!
We're now a proud member club of the Intermountain Ski Council, and thus
of the Far West Ski Association.  This means more trips, new locales, better pricing.
Click
here to find out how this will directly benefit you as a skier and a tourist.

Why all the slides?  Here's one opinion from Summit Daily.

ATOMIC BINDING RECALL

If you are an Alpine skier you need to check to see if you have Atomic ski bindings.

Today (12/24/08) , the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (USPSC) released a

recall notice issued by Atomic Skis GmbH of Austria that affects approximately 125,000

of these bindings sold in America between 1998 and 2005. The bindings

have a tendency to crack at the heel, causing an unexpected release.

Four serious injuries have been reported in the field.

To see if your bindings are one of the recalled models, consult the USPSC recall notice

on these bindings. If you have these bindings, do not use them and

contact an authorized Atomic Ski dealer, or call Atomic Ski USA toll-free at 888.535.7555.

Recent posts include the Red Lion Ski Club newsletter, lodging specials we've received at
the club's email that we've re-posted for your use.

There's simply no easier way to enjoy a ski or snowboard weekend than to join the Cheyenne Ski Club.  Our alpine trips are usually on chartered bus to a downhill resort, so all you need to do is sign up, then show up at the bus with your gear.  We'll handle the driving and accommodations for you, and even provide some tips on getting the best lift ticket prices.

Our Nordic program continues to gain in popularity, and these smaller, more intimate trips tend to fill rather quickly.  With group cooking and carpooling, they have a distinctly different feel than do the alpine trips.

Please note that we're utilizing a new signup system for the alpine trips to assist both the membership and the trip captains.  Read about it here.

It's been a great season so far, and we still have a couple of trips left.  Check out our calendar to get our dates and destinations.  Our meetings will generally be at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 507 West 28th Street on the first and third Thursdays of each month (November through April), but occasionally we'll move to another site, or even to another day. We'll keep you up to date on this page as things develop.
